This can be made to work as it should, but it takes more effort than it should. One person found this helpful. It arrived ahead of schedule and was painless to buy.

I purchased this after buying a flat based Stanley spokeshave and was very disappointed with the product. The red throat plate was jagged at the bottom edge and I honestly don't know if, after grinding it flat, if there will be enough material to go all the way to the throat of the spokeshave.
