This can be made to work as it should, but it takes more effort than it should. One person found this helpful. It arrived ahead of schedule and was painless to buy.
I purchased this after buying a flat based Stanley spokeshave and was very disappointed with the product. The red throat plate was jagged at the bottom edge and I honestly don't know if, after grinding it flat, if there will be enough material to go all the way to the throat of the spokeshave. Probably down to my technique, so maybe a bit more practice needed. Reading on Paul Sellers Woodworking Masterclass website, he says the round spokeshave is only of use for a very tight internal radius and that the flat spokeshave is usual suitable for most work.
Maybe I'll never need to use the round one! Definitely not a Stanley Sole needs a lot of work before use, blade needs work. Shipped bagged from overseas.
If you've never honed a tool before i'd avoid. Report abuse. Works well - feels comfortable in use and does what it's intended to do.
